
Jackrabbits
Jackrabbits runs at 1:30PM every Saturday afternoon from November 12, 2022 to March 25, 2023.
The Jackrabbit program is is taught by certified coaches and is designed for the "FUNdamentals" stage of development (children 5-10yrs and older children that are new to skiing). The objective is for children to learn basic cross-country ski skills (both classic and skating) and to instill a lifelong interest in the sport, thereby enhancing their quality of life and health.

Jackrabbits program fee is $35/child and includes use of ski equipment for new skiers. All Jackrabbit ski participants must also be registered as Fort Smith Ski Club members.
Skis can also be rented for the entire season for $100. The rental fee is $50 and the deposit is $50, which is refunded upon return of the ski equipment in the same condition as they were lent out.

Track Attack
The Track Attack program runs every Saturday at 1:00PM from November 12, 2022 - March 25, 2023, and on Thursday evenings (Time TBA).
The Track Attack program is taught by certified coaches and is designed for intermediate to advanced skiers in the 'Learning to Train' stage of development (approx. 10-14yrs old ). The objective is for the youth to become technically competent cross-country skiers and to utilize those skills while exploring a wide range of cross-country ski activities, such as back country excursions and ski tournaments. Racing is introduced and practiced through events in Fort Smith and also travelling to races in other NWT & Alberta communities.
Goals of program:
Develop fitness through active play, games and activities will be fun, provide children an opportunity to be part of a sports team, develop overall physical skills and expose children to a variety of 'adventure based' cross-country ski activities.

Track Attack program fee is $50/youth and all participants must also be registered as Fort Smith Ski Club members. Track Attack skiers are expected to have their own gear for both classic and skate skiing (there may be some club gear available to borrow for short-term use or new skiers).

Biathlon Racing
More information about the 2021-2022 biathlon program will be posted soon.
Coaches, parent helpers, and athletes must be registered members with Biathlon Canada & Biathlon NWT before using the range.
